Chuck is CEO of MarketPower Group, the business growth advisory firm helping clients fuel profitable growth. He has over four decades of diverse business and entrepreneurial leadership experience across a variety of industries. As the founder of seven companies, he believes that the only lasting solution for growth in today’s complex world of short-term business thinking is for business leaders to build customer-first cultures. He has worked with companies ranging from Fortune 500’s to start-ups. His clients have included major brands such as Campbell’s Soup, Aggreko, Intel, Verizon, HP, Mercury General Insurance, Yahoo, Levi-Strauss, Holt Cat, Cisco, Texas A&M, and NBC.

Chuck spent over 15 years in the broadcasting industry where he was a sales executive for the Dallas Cowboys radio network, Belo Broadcasting, CBS and Time-Warner. In 1998, Chuck built a team of marketing, broadcasting and technology professionals to develop a better way to buy television advertising in the face of exploding media costs. The result was a web-based platform that successfully placed over a half billion dollars of TV advertising coast-to-coast, while saving marketers nearly $400 million in the process. He also applied similar efficiencies to the creative and production side of the ad business by developing a lower cost way to deliver high production values for a fraction of the traditional cost.

In 2001, Chuck observed that the world of Internet advertising had become the “wild west” with its lack of pricing discipline and accountability. He launched the web analytics firm Optimal iQ to help marketers deliver dramatic improvement in their on-line advertising return-on-investment.

This work in web analytics pointed the way to a deeper understanding of the growing problem of on- line fraud with search engines. In 2006, Chuck founded Click Forensics, which became the global leader in digital advertising fraud detection and remediation. Later rebranded as Adometry, the firm was acquired by Google in 2014.

Chuck has also been actively engaged in customer insight research for over 20 years to discover unmet, and often unarticulated, customer needs. He has interviewed and surveyed over 100,000 customers for his clients. The insight gained has helped his clients innovate with better products, services and experiences that deliver more profitable, sustainable results.

Chuck is the author of two business books about customers: Customer CEO: How to Profit from the Power of Your Customers (Bibliomotion, 2013) and Stop, Look, and Listen (Bibliomotion, 2015). He is also a contributor to Forbes and Fast Company.

Chuck earned a BBA from Southern Methodist University (SMU) Cox School of Business. He is a trained Blue Ocean Strategy expert. He delivers keynotes and workshops at corporations and industry trade conferences. Over the past decade, Chuck has taught and led workshops on business growth strategy, Blue Ocean Strategy, branding and marketing at Texas A&M, Trinity University and The University of the Incarnate Word.

Chuck resides in San Antonio, Texas with his wife Franze.
