Professionally, Doug has spent the recent years in financial services, earning a reputation of excellence and innovation. His business savvy and leadership presence has been vital at the forefront of several recent national banking situations. In his early days, Doug served as a Captain in the U.S. Army, managing logistics as a quartermaster officer at Ft. Rucker, AL. Upon leaving the service, Doug joined Texas Commerce Bank, a $27 billion regional bank holding company, where he worked with Ben Love and Marc Shapiro.
In the depths of the financial crisis started in 2007, Doug saw a need in his community. He founded a non-denominational, faith based career transition organization called Jobs Ministry Southwest. During the next few years, over 3,500 clients attended training, joined work groups, and participated in job search coaching programs sponsored and hosted by the organization.
